Day 2

Day 1   Kathmandu Arrival

Meet and greet at Tribhuvan International Airport. Transfer to hotel for check in. In the evening, we will visit Pashupatinath temple located at the Bagmati River, honours the Hindu Lord, Shiva. Walk around the huge complex from the eartern to the western side. Meeting of holy man, cremation pyre and the beautiful two-storied roof which made from copper and is covered with gold is believed to make wishes come true.

Day 2   Kathmandu City Tour

After breakfast at the hotel we shall visit the floating cloud Kopan Monastery. The monastery was established by the FPMT's founders, Lamas Thubten Yeshe and Thubten Zopa Rinpoche. Guest may order puja and all payment/donation will be collected by the monastery directly. We will then proceed to visit UNESCO World Heritage Site Boudhanath Stupa. The Stupa symbolizes the Buddha’s three jewels: Body, Speech and Mind. We proceed to visit UNESCO Swayambhu stupa and in Nepal Bhasa is ‘self-sprung’ or ‘self-manifested’. Have a glimpse of the living goddess. Kumari, the living goddess, represents Taleju Bhawani and is said to be the living incarnation of the goddess herself. Legend states that the ancient kings of Nepal were devotees of goddess Taleju. We then will visit UNESCO Changu Narayan Temple which is perch on top of a hill and was built in 4AD.The temple is one of the most elaborate in the Kathmandu valley, rich in wood and stone carvings. It is a two-tiered pagoda structure and was re-constructed in 1702 after the old one was gutted by fire. We end our day by visiting UNESCO Bhaktapur Square of the Malla Dynasty. Inside this square guests will visit the Nyatapola Temple, the tallest pagoda in Nepal, the 55-Window Palace, a masterpiece of Newar architecture and Fasidega Temple. Walk around Taumadhi and Pottery Squares for vibrant local Nepali art and culture.

Day 3

Day 3   Kathmandu - Pokhara

After a good breakfast, we will drive along the Prithvi Highway. Guests will be enchanted by the stunning views of villages, rolling hills along the Trishuli River. As you continue the journey, you’ll cross the Mugling-Narayanghat Highway, famous for its winding roads through lush forests and valleys dotted with traditional Nepali villages. We stop for lunch in Mugling. We will pass through the picturesque town of Bandipur, known for its preserved Newari architecture and cultural heritage and then passing through the Tanahu Hydropower Project, Nepal’s largest hydropower project that harnesses the power of the Seti River to generate electricity. As we are approaching Pokhara, we will pass by the scenic Begnas Lake and the Rupa Lake, having a serene atmosphere and views of the surrounding hills.

Day 4

Day 4  Pokhara City Tour

Start the day with a cool and enjoyable activities of boating in Phewa Lake. We then proceed to visit World Peace Stupa (Shanti Stupa shrine) was built as a symbol of peace. Situated at the height of 1100 meters on the Anadu Hill, Nichidatsu Fujii laid the foundation stone along with relics of the Buddha on 12 September 1973. From the stupa, we can have a fascinating view of Fewa lake, mountain range and pokhara valley. Our next visit will be to UNESCO site of Gupteshwar Caves which Davi waterfall. The water fall cuts through the rocks to create complex caves and tunnels on its path. Gupteshwar Mahadev cave on the other side of the fall is one such cave carved by Devi’s Fall. The sacred shrine dedicated to Shiva is popular among the local residents.

Day 5

After breakfast, we will drive to Lumbini. Upon arrival we will visit the Buddha birth place, the Maha Devi Temple. Around 563 BC, the Buddha Siddhartha Gautama is believed to have been born at the site of Lumbini.The original Maya Devi Temple was built during the Emperor Ashoka’s visit to Lumbini around 249 BC. Today you can see the marking of Buddha birth place by visiting Ashokan Pillar which is located in the garden. Overnight in Lumbini.

Day 6   Lumbini - Kathmandu (By Flight - 1 Hrs)

Early in the morning all guests will attend a special puka at the monastery - Moksha Puja, a prayers for liberation from this vicious cycle of life and death. After which we will visit the monastic zone and then back to the hotel for breakfast. Our flight will be at about 12:00 and estimate lunch time in Kathmandu is about 2 pm. Guests can have some free time for shopping and in the evening, enjoy 1 hour session of singing bow workshop.
